Our Story

Amakari

The history of Indian street food is rich and diverse, reflecting the country's culture and culinary tradition. Its origins date back centuries, with street vendors offering local dishes to travelers and pilgrims. The arrival of the Mughals introduced Persian and Muslim influences, helping to diversify street food. Over the centuries, each region of India has developed its own variety of street food, from the crispy pani puri of Mumbai to the stuffed parathas of Delhi.

The history of Indian street food is marked by its constant evolution. While traditional street food vendors used to be simple carts, these days one can find modern street food stalls with cutting-edge technologies for food preparation and cooking. The menus have also expanded to include dishes that cater to the varied tastes of the modern population.
